Public meetings are  very helpful and necessary when trying to get our local government involved in community issues. On this page are records of the Grist Mill public meetings as well as the outcome of their ideas and proposals.

Community Action Advisory Committee Meeting
Location: East Gwillimbury Civic Centre
Main topic: Follow up last meeting
Date: Monday June 27th
Time: 7:00pm
Reason: As a follow up to the previous CAC meeting representatives of Grist Mill will be attending this meeting in order to address the outcomes and further planning of the issues brought up at the CAC meeting on May 30th.

Community Action Advisory Committee Meeting
Location: East Gwillimbury Civic Centre
Main topic: Introduce topics from the Public Meetings
Date: Monday May 30th
Time: 7:00pm
Reason: This meeting to be held by the East Gwillimbury Community Action Advisory Committee on Monday May 30th at the EG Civic Centre. Representatives of Grist Mill will be attending this meeting in order to present the issues brought up at the public meeting the day before.
Follow Up: 3 community residents attended the meeting and present the ideas from the community to this government committee. The main topics covered were Grist Mill Park Safety and Grist Mill Community Roads. The committee began by dealing with their ongoing issues and then turned the floor to the Grist Mill Residents so that their concerns could be heard. Many of the issues brought up in the Public meeting were discussed, some more then others. The letter drafted after the public meeting was presented to the committee members and they agreed to forward the letter to Council to ensure all of the topics were given attention.  Action to be taken has been outlined in the document available below which is a modified version of the letter that was presented to the committee.

Community Public Meeting
Location: Grist Mill Park  - At the bend of Stegman Road or enter from the Grist Mill Plaza
Main topic: Grist Mill Park - Any topic will be discussed
Date: Sunday May 29th
Time: 7:00pm
Reason: There is a meeting to be held by the East Gwillimbury Community Action Advisory Committee on Monday May 30th at the EG Civic Centre. Representatives of Grist Mill will be attending this meeting and the purpose of meeting the day before is to gather any information on topics that local residents would like addressed with the Town of East Gwillimbury and the York Regional Police.
Main topic of concern will be the vandalism and inappropriate activities taking part in Grist Mill Park. Secondly it is important to find out how much community support would be behind upgrading and improving the park in the future. Also to be discussed, Lighting in the walkways joining streets in our neighbourhood and Streetlights throughout the entire Grist Mill Community.
Follow Up: A Public Community meeting was held at Grist Mill Park on Sunday May 29th, 2005 at 7:00pm. There were 22 local residents in attendance. Many topics were discussed by the group, and agreed to be brought to local government attention in order to begin forming action plans. A letter was drafted to be brought to the Community Action Advisory Committee Meeting. The letter is available for download below.
